Israel 101: The History of Israel in Six Lessons

PaJeS (Partnerships for Jewish Schools) seeks to identify the areas in which Jewish schools in the UK can work together and to provide them with high quality support, services, and strategies to help them achieve their goals.
PaJes will create attractive teaching materials, including comprehensive lesson plans, designed for use with Year 9 students (aged 13-14) in all Jewish secondary schools throughout the UK.
The main aim of the Israel 101 project is to remedy the lack of teaching materials in Jewish secondary schools for formal classroom learning about Israeli history.

The curriculum will cover a total of six lessons and could be used as a precursor to the Year 9 trip to Israel which is common in many of the schools. It is appropriate particularly for Year 9 Jewish Studies when more classroom time is generally available than the subsequent two years which concentrate on GCSE examinations.
