Digital Resources from NLI
with Jewish Interactive
Jewish Interactive is working to revitalise Jewish learning through technology. The National Library has a huge collection of primary sources that can be made accessible to children around the world with the help of technology. This a key time of change in education — pedagogical structures are shifting to child-centred facilitation and research rather than the more traditional distribution of information. Attention spans and opportunities for personalised learning increase dramatically when tablets are used, and the children become completely immersed in the task in hand. Jewish Interactive has expertise in running iPad labs within the classroom, producing wonderful results that focus on the learning process rather than the technology.
Jewish Interactive is joining the National Library on a new educational project at two Jewish schools in London: JCoSS and the Independent Jewish Day School. Using primary sources from NLI, the Jewish Interactive team will run multimedia workshops to create meaningful learning experiences. This project will help NLI to achieve our aims to utilise technology to encourage and expand learning and engagement while involving children with our rich array of resources and historical information.
